Unpaid Internships: Everything I Need to Know all about

It's one of the most common and frustrating career dilemmas. INTERNSHIP can be either skeptical or totally frustrating.

The false economy of unpaid internships helps scammers to trap us.  Should you take an unpaid internship? My internship experience… says NO! Unpaid internships cannot continue to exist. It's really immoral. @babaohome #BabaHome #WorkLife

THIS IS KEY: For simplicity- I don’t like to go for differentiating between apprentices and interns. Let me explain a bit about the internship.

The Value of Internships:

Internships provide an opportunity to expose yourself to a career that matches your academic and personal interests. Additionally, skills gained from practical experience will make you more valuable as an employee. Internships can be of great value when it comes to gaining experience and getting hired. This resume building and carrier development opportunity help job readiness before beginning a profession.
Since most companies seek candidates with previous relevant experience in the field, internships are crucial for college seniors who are seeking their first real-time job after graduation, Moms, Retired or those who would like to choose a virtual FREELANCE work-life home to earn their living from the comfort of their pajamas without commuting.
It doesn’t matter if the internship is paid or if you are receiving a credit to complete the internship experience, the only thing an employer focuses on is what type of knowledge and skills you gained when interning for the company.
Students can be either skeptical or totally trusting when it comes to finding an internship. However, if an internship sounds too good to be true!

Avoid Questionable Internships

Internships that are questionable are usually ones you will want to avoid. Bad neighborhoods or internships in a person’s home are never a good idea. If an employer doesn’t ask you to complete an application or ask for a resume, it’s also not a good idea.

The unpaid internship is a source of constant debate in the professional world. On one hand, these positions can allow professionals to gain experience in industries where a paid gig just isn’t feasible. On the other hand, they can be easily exploited by greedy companies looking for free labor.

The usefulness of an internship has more to do with your goals and the nature of the position than whether or not it’s paid. No internship is created equally. An unpaid position could easily yield countless benefits where a paid one just nets you a paycheck. The trick is figuring out which you’ve signed up for before it’s too late.
As you’re sifting through the thousands of postings online, the stress and pressure piling up, you find an offer promising “immediate work!” and “Great money!”

Scammers create and maintain fraudulent postings on many reputable job boards, for monetary gain, including Handshake and even networking sites like LinkedIn. While the ICC vets every position that is posted to Handshake, sometimes fraudulent postings make it through.

Unpaid Internships: Bad for Students, Bad for Workers, Bad for Society

The economics of unpaid internships are obvious. Employers are desperate for cheap work, and “free” is pretty cheap. Workers are desperate for, well, anything, and students and recent grads are willing to negotiate their wages down to zero. But the ethics aren't so clear-cut. If unpaid internships are the key to better jobs and bigger
How do you ascertain internship to job Legit or Scam?

The Internet is an amazing resource especially when it comes to finding internships and jobs. There are so many opportunities available that all you have to do is identify programs or look for internships in a particular field or industry. With so many results—and the anonymity of the internet—sometimes it may be hard to determine if an advertised internship is actually real or a scam looking to steal your information.

Do Your Research

There are scams all over the Internet. Due diligence is required whenever making major decisions based on what it says on the Internet. Researching a company is one thing you can do to make sure a company is legitimate. Talk to the counsels and instructors in the program you are completing. They may have a list of tried and true companies that the school already has an internship relationship with.

Doing research on Google is another way to learn more about a company. Entering the name of a company plus scam is a way to see if there have been any reports about this company being illegitimate.

Conclusion and Remarks

I’ve worked unpaid internships. My experiences have been largely NEGATIVE with HUGE drawbacks. Here’s what I learned through each, and what you need to look out for. How To Find That One Perfect Job niche for YOU?

Finding the Right Career means 50% done that eases your journey in this endeavor.

In the previous post, we have already discussed what niche is all about. Now in final TRIAL to refined the same to fit it with you. Imagine you are in a final TRIAL room of a tailoring shop to wear PENT to confirm...let's see at the MIRROR!!

  1. What U R Really Passionate About—and Why?
  2. What Does YOUR Interest & Lovely “Dream Job” Look Like?
  3. How Does This Job Fit Into YOUR Life?

How To Find That One Perfect Job niche for ME?

Find the answers by the following:

1. Evaluate your passions and skills

This sounds so basic, but it really makes all the difference. Don't just choose a niche because you're "kind of interested" in it; to be sustainable, it should ideally be something you can see yourself being passionate about for at least 1 year or more.

Is this something you love to do in your free time, or that you'd do even if you weren't getting paid for it? This could be a great option for your niche.

2. Figure out if there's a market for your niche

Having a passion for a particular niche isn't enough (I wish it were!).
You also, want to make sure there's a need for it; otherwise your work will stay a hobby, never growing into a lucrative profession.
One way to start figuring out the market is with some basic keyword research. The Google Keyword Planner is a great tool for this.

3. Narrow down your niche

At this point, you may want to narrow your niche down even further. For instance, you may have found that "freelance writing" is a popular niche, but want to see if you can find an even narrower focus for your niche. Writing is a huge area. Like- Travel, Sports, Entertainment, Culture, History and so many so forth. “Travel Writer” a narrow and refined niche one.

4. Check out the competition for yourself

Keyword research is important, but you'll also want to see for yourself what the competition is like for your niche.

5. Test your niche

While the market research you've already done is helpful, testing the market in real-time can really show you whether you're on the right track.

How to write a good statement for your job purpose

What's a personal statement, and why do you need one when you're job searching?

A job search personal statement is a place to share why you're interested in a position and why you're a good match. In your statement, you can get a bit personal — use the space to share details and insights about yourself, and forge a connection with potential employers. Here are some tips on how to write a successful personal statement that will further your job search.

Different Types of Personal Statements are used to attract and search results.

You may need to write a personal statement as part of a job application. This helps to hire managers to separate out candidates applying for every job in a category (e.g., putting in applications for any "production manager" position) from more engaged candidates, who are interested in the company.

Success In Reaching Goals Is Determined By Mindset

Why is mindset important in achieving success?

The Hare Mindset VS the Tortoise Mindset

The Importance of Mindset- the skill you need - because Mindset is the key to success in freelance. You must have to set a plan to work START and consistently strive until reaching the goal- managing a job.

Are You a Tortoise or a Hare? Growth vs. Fixed Mindset

You can do anything you set your mind to. It is alike set up of Alarm to wake up in the early morning to pray, walking, and trip whatever…
Everything that can be converted from an atom to a bit, will be…

“Willpower is the key to success. Successful people strive no matter what they feel by applying their will to overcome apathy, doubt or fear.”  Dan Millman

The power of being willing to be consistent in life: Will power tune-up your MINDSET passion and positivity at large.

The difference between hard work and smart work is based on how I approach my task. Hard work would mean spending long hours to complete my work without any shortcuts. ...

Smart work would be aiming for the same results but with planning and prioritization of tasks. People often say and we are used to “wow you must work so hard to stay fit and keep your life balanced!” My answer is always the same; “actually I don’t really work hard but I AM consistent.” There is a VERY big difference between working hard and being consistent.

When we work hard at anything, there will always come a time soon afterward when we crash. Either we have reached our established goal, or we have finished the intended project and now it’s time to relax. After all, working hard for extended periods of time is exhausting! Nobody can keep up strenuous efforts forever.

When we work consistently, however, it means that we put in regular, steady efforts over a long period of time. When it comes to our health, wellness, emotions, and overall lifestyle, consistency wins over hard work every time!

This is a great example of why diets don’t work. People go in with a specific goal; i.e. to lose 15 pounds. Once the weight is lost, the dieter eventually goes back to their old ways and the weight comes back quickly. This is because following a strict eating regimen is hard work and counting our calories or writing in a food journal is unnatural.

Slow And Steady Wins The Race - Proverb

Slow and Steady walked and walked. He never, ever stopped until he came to the finish line.

Have you ever heard Aesop’s fable about the Tortoise and the Hare?

The Hare Mindset

These days, most people try to live like the Hare. Not necessarily in the way that they’re bragging and boasting and challenging random turtles to sprint races (although some crazy nuts might), but rather that they want things to go FAST.

The Tortoise Mindset

But what if you decided right now to drop the quick-fix mentality of the Hare and instead adopt the mindset of the Tortoise?
I believe it works something like this:
When you’re consistent, that creates momentum. That momentum creates progress. Progress creates self-confidence. The self-confidence starts shaping a new, more resourceful, and empowering identity. And with this new identity comes the ability to create lasting change in your life.
So, here’s what I suggest. Take your goals and chop them up into small daily minimum quotas. Then, start obsessing about executing on them every single day.

Power of Consistency:

Are you stopping short of the finish line? Consistency is the difference between failure and success. Here's why.

Consistency is a great characteristic to build and implement in your life. The key to consistency is setting and achieving specific goals. Start by determining how you want to be more consistent in your life, and aim for these small goals. Over time, as you become more consistent, keep yourself motivated and accountable. This may require some change in thinking so that you stay optimistic and productive throughout the process.

The most important step is to try something. Try means with consistency.
WHEN YOU STOP VIEWING SUCCESS AS AN OPTION AND START LOOKING AT IT AS A DUTY, YOU’RE ON THE right PATH.
But don’t be lazy… slow and steady doesn’t mean at all- LAZY! Not a FAST CRAZY TOO!! These all about passion for a positive mindset ...to reach the GOAL- FINISH... keep it up in your job tenour and this is the key to success... throughout YOUR carrier path. Best wishes ...wishing you a wonderful GROWTH journey...

Why is it so hard to find a job?

How to improve your chances of getting a job online?

Here are some reasons finding a job might be challenging and how you can address them: Understanding what obstacles you face in the job market is the first step to overcoming them. If you are successful in the first step then you will be illegible for the next. The first hurdle to cross with well-crated apps worthy RESUME and COVER LETTER. Furthermore, interviews & other processes to get an offer you have to drive safely- FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELT to face a long drive journey!  To improve your odds of success, follow these steps:

1. Keep your resume updated and tailored to the position

In my previous post already been point out an emphasis on how to Customize and crafting professional-looking RESUME and cover Letters.  Make sure that your resume is well-organized and readable. When applying to a position, customize each application you send to match the desired skills listed on the job posting. This is especially important if you are submitting your resume through an electronic portal. Many employers use Applicant Tracking Systems technology, which scans your resume and searches for keywords to match with the job posting.

Based on how this software perceives that your resume matches what the employer is asking for, it then determines if your resume should continue to the hiring manager. Tailoring your resume to the job position can help ATS recognize that your qualifications match. To maximize your resume’s effectiveness, try the following:

  • Change the skills section in your resume to reflect keywords from the job posting. If a job posting seems to focus on specific skills or characteristics, then including those in the text of your resume and cover letter is helpful.

  • Keep your resume layout simple and readable. Choose a resume format and style that employers can quickly read. Consider asking someone to look over your resume, so you can gain perspective on how someone else may see it.

  • Keep your resume wording concise. To fill your resume with relevant information, try to keep the content simple and straightforward. This improves an employer’s ability to fully understand what skills you have.

2. Write your cover letter addressing all the details that employers looking for: Cover The letter is the most important aspect of the application journey to present before you the HIRING MANAGER. Precisely and briefly address all works can be done as per job posting in a half A4 size matter.

·         What is your passion for provide the services and understanding to get the job done
·         Teamwork and collaboration efforts to attain the goal
·          How you attain ROI

Keep in mind that you are competing with the global top talents of the borderless world. For any post, there are thousands of candidates applying for the post. Hiring Manager put all applications in automated software to find the right candidate out of hundreds. Mostly look at an applicant's resume and cover letter at a glance, not more than 2-3 minutes. So, keywords are the most important other than long tailored descriptions. This is a 21-century APPS and software-friendly world of the job market and you must have to keep in mind crafting your RESUME and COVER Letter accordingly.
